The Fletcher family of which I am a part of seems to have been strong in the Lincolnshire Wolds, that is the area around Louth. In particular villages like Hainton and Brigg (formally Glanford Brigg).

I have gone back to Great Grandfather Thomas Fletcher who married Martha Greenfield in 1859 in Louth. I am certain that Thomas Fletcher is the son of Christopher Fletcher and Mary Marshall m. 28 Jun 1796 in Burgh on Bain, Lincolnshire, England. Apart from that I have absolutely no other information on Christopher Fletcher just a brick wall. It looks as if they were living in Benniworth. They had 3 children Thomas, Mary and Martha. I believe they had another called John.

On the 1861 census Joseph Fletcher b. 1849 was living with his uncle Thomas in Waltham. Joseph's father was John. For Joseph to be Thomas's nephew Thomas must have a brother John.

That's as far as I have got. Remember I am still a newbie and need to develop my search skills.

i know its arkward getting cert when in NSW but the marriage cert would give you thomas father and occupation and poss witnesses could be relations

Good Morning and what a wealth of info you have given me. For confirmation I have already sent for the Marriage Certificate of John William and Nellie Johnston but there is going to be a belay processing estimated at 29 December I am hoping to get some stuff that looks reasonable first.
Most of my research is from Ancestry.
Yes the Lincolnshire FHS looks great.
One thing is certain there are many Fletchers in the Lincolnshire Wolds no doubt related somewhere. I am sure as I go back there is a very interesting story.
