Hi - I’m new here so forgive me if this is in the wrong section.
Looking into my Grandma’s family history and ether a sister or sister in law called Comfort Nock that I can’t find anywhere on the census,
There are already a couple of posts on this Nock Family in the Black Country archive ? including a memorial gravestone dedicated to Grandmas brother Will Nock who was killed in the First World War there’s also an inscription to William Nocks father and sister as well.
I assumed Comfort was my Grandma ( Leah ) sister but as she is not on the census she is more likely to be married to one of my Grandmas brothers most likely Joe Nock.
Comfort Nock was our Great Aunt and although I never met her know she was alive up to the 1960s at least.
The Nock Family were Greengrocers with a shop on Lake Street.
Any more info about this Nock family or Comfort Nock would be appreciated.

Yea that’s the family, I have that info but can’t as you can see find any reference to a Comfort Nock. Can only think she’s a Nock through marriage to Joseph Nock but that’s a guess.

For some reason Joseph Nock is down as Jonah Nock in the 21 census.

My sister who was born in 58 remembers meeting Comfort so that memory must be from the 60s.

There’s four Nock Daughters,
Leah is my Grandma,
Gladys, I met on occasions.
Sarah, I have photos and a letters with her name and signature of Sarah.
Ethel, died in 1927.
Sarah actually mentions her and Aunty Comfort getting my Mum a Xmas present in a letter from the 40s.
I make the assumption that because I’ve seen her described as Aunty Comfort that her surname is Nock.

Only possible is that Comfort is the wife of William, Joseph or Josiah.
I can't see a marriage to fit?

I was just thinking, did Comfort have any children?
Also, I had many Aunties and Uncles, but they were God Parents and parents friends we called that!

Didn’t think about Will being married as he was 22 when he died in WW1. Can rule out Josiah as we found out his wife’s name which wasn’t Comfort, and cannot find a marriage for Joe.
