Henry Chatwin born about 1898 not on BCC, K.I.A.

Henry Chatwin was born in Cradley Heath and his parents were Edward and Ellen Chatwin, later of 26 Thomas Street, Loughborough. He enlisted in the Cambridgeshire Regiment and joined the 1/1st Battalion which suffered severely in the 1918 German Spring offensives, notably the Battle of the Lys. However, the battalion played a major role in the Advance to Victory which began on the 21st August. They advanced towards the village of Epéhy which was strongly held by the enemy as it was vital for the defence of the Hindenburg Line. Attacks on the 6th September and the 18th were eventually successful at great cost. Private Henry Chatwin was severely wounded and taken to a military hospital near Dieppe where he died of wounds on the 22nd September. He was 20 years of age and is buried in the cemetery of Mont Huon le Treport (VII H 10B) and commemorated on Halesowen Memorial.
