I messaged him, I had been wondering if he was ok, Peter sent a group facebook message. So I messaged him.
His daughter in law messaged and told me.
Last message I had from him was 30th July.
Extremely, very sad.

I can't believe it, how sad!
He gave so much of his time researching, in order to help us find further connections on the Forum and BCC
RIP Jimmy, you'll be sadly missed

I just saw the news on Facebook. It's saddened me and even though we never met in person i considered him a mate. I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago on Messenger. I told him next time i'm in England i'll come down to Kiddy and have a drink with him in "church".Sad news. God Bless Jimmy The Cat.

Re: Tribute to Jimmy our dear friend and fellow researcher.
So sad to hear about our mate Jimmy.
Jimmy watching sport!!! He would rather sit and watch paint dry, watch and listen to grass grow or watch flowers in the rain. But ask him to find out the second cousin of your great grandmother whose name was Joe Smith and lived in Netherton, you'd have an answer within minutes.
I remember meeting him at Ma Pardoe's in Netherton all those years ago with other members of this forum and he was on the photos which somebody took of us all.
Thanks Jimmy for all your support and laughs, you will be fondly remembered. xx

I would think sometime next week, I could try.
I wouldn't like to message at the moment, they will have their own grief to cope with and lots of things to organise.

R.I.P. Jimmy, I learnt so much from Jimmy over the years as he had a knack of navigating genealogy websites by thinking outside the box . Any time I came across a brick wall or apparently missing records I just posted and knew Jimmy would respond . He had a mission to remove all Unknowns from Bcc and any perceived errors . He will be sorely missed
