son of Edward and Lucy Cheetham
Hope someone here may know the family or is cleverer than me at finding a name.
Easiest to say 1939 Register for 33 Amersham Rise, Aspley. Edward S (Samuel) Cheetham born 26 May 1896. wife is Lucy A (Agnes) Cheetham (Born Stone) 1 Jun 1901. They marry in 1927 and have a son. My wife met him when she was very young but cannot remember his name and I can't find a record for him other than the redacted entry on the 1939 Register. Do you know him, if still alive which the redaction suggests must be into his 90's.
If it helps? mother Lucy died in 1970, father Edward died in 1973
Thanks in anticipation.

Lucy is listed as having maiden name of STERNE.
There is a birth for a boy born 1936 in Basford who may still be living so I won't post details but can be found on Free BMD

Re: son of Edward and Lucy Cheetham
Kdwoodie and RF thanks to you both, I’ve had a good look and it all makes sense. How the mother Lucy Sterne became Lucy Stone is a mystery. I found her on the 1911 census although she was born in Nottingham her father was from Sunderland, if she picked up some of his dialect I could see how a wedding registrar could have heard Stone, from Sterne in a Geordie accent (PS I do know Geordie is not Sunderland)
But my wife now has the name Charles Edward as the relation she once met

RF, I tried your link, I’ve used them before and still have credit on my account. Searching for him only gets me me 3 headstones, all in Scotland. No cremation’s.
Do I understand you correctly Charles Edward has a son I need to find? Too many Edwards here!

Re: son of Edward and Lucy Cheetham
RF thanks for that, the link just takes me to the home login page, but no problem I'll search for Edward Samuel from there. The Doris Cheetham must be a huge coincidence, same day as Charles Edward.

Found him thanks. He appears to be a member of the British Legion too. His remains scattered on their grave (some letters underneath I can't read)
Think I may have found a marriage for new found son Charles Edward!

Re: son of Edward and Lucy Cheetham
RF just read that link, strange he would have that "old Contemptibles" inscription, unless it's standard for all British legion Members? I have his service record he enlisted on 23 Mar 1915 and fought his war in Salonica!
