Yes, I got there too. But the 1881 only census looks wrong for ages. There is a marriage though to Phoebe Willetts, father Thomas. At Handsworth in 1874 I think, if you want to look into that.

Only Phoebe seems to be born Smethwick so I think it may be a red herring.
